Mack LE - McNeilus MSL on Garbage!

Well, here's something I never thought I'd see again, let alone be able to film - an MSL collecting garbage right here in Kennewick! This truck typically handles a manual recycle route, which is how I always figured this truck would get it's YouTube debut, but to my amazement, due to some truck and personnel shortages over the past couple of weeks, this truck and it's driver have had to go help out on garbage on a couple of occasions! To my knowledge, the last time an MSL collected garbage in Kennewick was clear back in 2009 when the old Volvo WXLL Wittke Express was pulled out as a last resort spare - an occasion which I was also lucky enough to get on video! Needless to say, I was beyond stoked to be able to catch this. As many of you know, I grew up watching MSL's and the occasional rear loader handle semi-automated take-all collection, up until 2005 when the take-all service was discontinued and automated collection was phased in. So getting to see this was just like taking a step right back into my childhood. This will quite likely never happen again, so naturally, I made sure to accumulate a true wealth of footage. This is just the first of several parts to come, but the rest will be saved for a good long time ;) Until then, I hope you enjoy this truck's introduction!

Autocar WXLL - McNeilus Heavy Duty Rear Loader

For about as long as I've been on YouTube, Cleanscapes' eye-catching bright green-and-orange trucks have been on my "to-do" list since first seeing them on a school field trip to Seattle. Fast forward to now, and Cleanscapes has been acquired by Recology, the last of the classic green trucks only run in the City of Seattle and are about to be replaced by all new trucks, needless to say, Cleanscapes jumped right to the top of my priorities! As luck would have it, Alan and I bumped into this sharp looking McNeilus Heavy Duty rear loader paired up with an Autocar WXLL cab and chassis knocking out some residential recycling! This truck was a lot of fun to watch, especially with a driver that kept such a quick pace! I'm definitely stoked that I was finally able to catch some classic Cleanscapes trucks before it was too late! I hope you all enjoy this piece of Washington State history!

Freightliner Condor - Wittke Starlight w/ The Curotto-Can II

Well here's something of a surprise! A couple of weeks ago, this here Freightliner Condor/Wittke Starlight/Curotto-Can combo turned up in the Kennewick yard, parked next to it's nearly identical twin which has been featured in many of my videos over the years. As chance would have it, I came across it earlier this week being driven by the same driver, on the same route, on the same day of the week, in the same neighborhood that I filmed my very first Curotto-Can footage in some 10 years ago - talk about a throwback! It turns out, this truck is only here on a temporary basis; being borrowed from the neighboring yard in Wenatchee while several trucks have been out for repairs. Aside from the Curotto-Can being yellow instead of green and a few minor cosmetic details, this truck is virtually identical to the one that I used to film here frequently, though personally I think this one sounds a little cooler, especially when taking off between stops! It certainly felt like I had taken a step back in time watching this truck on this route, and I hope all of you can enjoy this little piece of nostalgia as well!

Peterbilt 320 - McNeilus M/A

Well, here's a couple of firsts for me - the first CNG-powered McNeilus M/A I've ever filmed, as well as the first McNeilus M/A I've ever filmed paired up with a Peterbilt 320 cab & chassis! Alan (West Coast Refuse Trucks) and I came across this shiny new green machine taking care of a yard debris route in a pleasantly woodsy section of Bremerton a few months back. I must say, visually speaking, that the McNeilus M/A body pairs really nicely with the newer generation Peterbilt 320, and the combo of the two wears the WM livery quite nicely. I hope everyone enjoys the video!

Autocar WX64 - Bridgeport Front Loader

Well here is definitely one of the more unique trucks out of the Yakima Waste Systems fleet - one of the very few trucks in the fleet to wear the classic Waste Connections livery, and one of only a couple Autocar trucks! This older model Bridgeport front loader was found completely by surprise early one morning, collecting commercial garbage around the city of Yakima! I believe this is actually my first full video of a Bridgeport front loader, and this was absolutely a great one to start with! I had a lot of fun watching this one, and I hope all of you do too!
